Yet the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to advance forward and play aggressively, supported by an better service.
The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult Frenchman, taking four of the concluding five games to go ahead.
The pair exchanged service breaks in the second set before Moutet, striving for his initial ATP Tour title, took control to push for a final set.
The opponent saved 4 early opportunities in a close deciding set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Suitably, the winner earned victory with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a return after a lengthy match.
